Born in the UK and raised in South Africa, her work lives somewhere between memory and image - shaped by vibrant colour, real-life texture and a painter’s instinct for contrast. Drawing from the joy and ache of lived experience, she explores the quiet moments that often go unnoticed yet makes them feel unforgettable.

She began her formal studies at Tshwane University of Technology in South Africa, specialising in painting, digital art, printmaking and art theory — graduating Cum Laude. In those years, she was mentored by renowned sculptor and painter Prof. Jan van der Merwe, who challenged her to stop creating for the sake of product and start interrogating her own practice. That shift stayed with her.

After completing her Bachelor’s, Eloise relocated to the UK to pursue her Master’s in Painting at Arts University Plymouth. But after graduation, she found herself in unfamiliar territory — creatively blocked and emotionally spent. What followed was an unplanned sabbatical from making. The weight of critique, perfectionism, and real life had dulled the instinct to create.

Now, that instinct is returning - slower, but more honest. With a refined palette and a quieter kind of clarity, Eloise continues to explore the tension between memory and material, stillness and movement, the external and the internal. Her work doesn’t aim for answers - just presence.
